Everyday life can be hectic, and mistakes happen!

Have you ever…

  • Made an honest mistake in your checkbook?
  • Found yourself “a little short”?
  • Had unusual or unforeseen expenses at just the wrong time?

Occasional Overdraft Privilege Service (OOPS!™) gives you an extra level of protection against unanticipated cash flow emergencies and account reconciliation errors.

As always, we encourage you to manage your finances responsibly, overdrafts should not be used to pay ordinary or routine expenses and you should not rely on overdrafts as a mean to cover these expenses. If at any time you feel you need help with your financial obligations please contact one of our Personal Bankers at 800-478-6690.

WHAT IS OOPS!™?

Overdraft Privilege Service is an overdraft limit that is automatically assigned to your account. There is no action required on your part.

HOW DOES OVERDRAFT PRIVILEGE WORK?

We are not obligated to pay any item initiated for payment against your account if your account does not contain sufficient collected funds. Rather than automatically returning, unpaid, all non – sufficient items that you may have, if your account has been open for at least thirty days (30) and in good standing, we will consider, without obligation on our part, approving your reasonable overdraft up to you assigned OOPS! limit, including our fees.

WHAT DOES MY OVERDRAFT PRIVILEGE SERVICE COST?

There is no additional cost associated with this privilege unless you use it. However, you should keep in mind that you will be charged our normal fees and charges for non-sufficient funds (NSF) or overdraft (OD) fees; currently $33 for each transaction initiated for payment from your checking account that does not have sufficient collected funds. This fee applies to overdrafts created by check, in-person withdrawal, ATM withdrawal, debit card purchases or other electronic means.

WHAT IS MY OVERDRAFT PRIVILEGE LIMIT?

Our NSF/OD and daily overdraft fees will be included in and count against your assigned OOPS! limit of $800 for personal checking accounts or $1,500 for business checking accounts. Whether your overdrafts will be paid or not is at our sole discretion and we reserve the right not to pay. We typically do not pay overdrafts if your account is not in good standing, or if you have too many overdrafts. We may refuse to pay an overdraft for you at any time, even though your account is in good standing and even though we may have previously paid overdraft for you.

HOW DO I KNOW WHEN I USE THE OVERDRAFT LIMIT? WHAT IF I GO BEYOND MY OVERDRAFT PRIVILEGE LIMIT?

You will be notified by  mail of any non-sufficient funds items paid or returned that you may have; however, we; have no obligation to notify you before we pay or return any item. The amount of any overdrafts including our fees that you owe us shall be due and payable immediately.

If there is an overdraft paid by us on an account with more than one (1) owner on the signature card, each owner, and agent if applicable, drawing/presenting the item creating the overdraft, shall be jointly and severally liable for such overdrafts including our fees.

WHAT IF I DO NOT WANT TO HAVE OVERDRAFT PRIVILEGE ON MY CHECKING ACCOUNT?

You may choose at any time not to participate in OOPS! by contacting us at 800-478-6690. and notifying one of our Personal Bankers who will explain what  (“Opt Out”) means, and the potential consequences for you. However, once this service is removed, you should keep in mind that if an item is presented for payment and there are not sufficient funds in your account, the item may be returned to the payee and our standard NSF fee of $32 will be charged per item.

Please note: Always a discretionary service: Our OOPS! does not constitute an actual or implied agreement between you and us. Nor does it constitute an actual or implied obligation of or by us. The service represents a purely discretionary courtesy or privilege that the bank may provide to you from time to time and which may be withdrawn or withheld by the bank at any time without prior notice or reason or cause.
